In late 2005 Joe began a project to consolidate his many years of experience and unfinished original musical works into a “smooth jazz” CD entitled "Reflection". Helping in the early stages was Skip Prokop, legendary leader, primary songwriter and drummer with “Lighthouse”. Prokop, like Joe, had turned to smooth jazz as a creative outlet. The recording process inspired Joe to begin a parallel project recording a CD of jazz standards, entitled,"Specially for You".These projects have vastly evolved over the past months, not only with the development of better understanding of the recording process but with the ever-improving quality of computer software and instrument plugins etc. Probably the single most important development has been FXpansion’s BFD drums and now even more so with the Jazz & Funk edition. The only down side is that Joe has been compelled to re-do all his drum tracks because of this incredible improvement in “sampled” drum sounds. Top big band drummer Johhny Bond, upon hearing a demo cut from "Reflection" commented, "Joe when did you learn to play the drums?" When sent samples of Joe's songs, the FXpansion company were so impressed they asked him to submit a few tunes for use on their demo page.
